Instructions for Entering the 2026 Festival

Instructions to enter Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama using the new Run my Festival (RMF) portal.

Before you start:

  • Entries are made through the link on the Festival website. This link will take you to our new Run my Festival (RMF) portal.

  • New users must register a RMF account via our link.

  • Please note that if you already have a RMF account with another festival, you do not need to create a new account, please use your existing login.

  • Have the Bedfordshire Festival syllabus open and note the class numbers/titles you wish to enter.

How to create a new Individual and enter a solo class:

  1. Go to the Bedfordshire Festival website and follow the Entries link to the RMF portal and login with your username and password.

  2. After login you land on the Entrants page. Click the Create New Individual button (often shown as a pink button). Fill in the required details and save.

  3. Back on the Entrants list, click the green “Enter” button next to that person.

  4. Find the class (searching by number is fastest), click Add to Basket, answer any extra questions if prompted, and continue adding any other classes.

  5. Go to the Basket/Checkout, follow the payment instructions, and submit. You’ll receive an email receipt/confirmation.

How to create a new pair and enter a duet class:

  1. On Entrants, first ensure each performer exists as an individual (create both if needed).

  2. Click the Ensembles area (often via the orange button), then choose Group with People. Create the group and add the two named performers. (You can leave the group name blank—RMF can auto-generate it from the performers’ names.) Save.

  3. In the Ensembles list, click the green “Enter” button for that duo, select the duet/pair class, Add to Basket, then Checkout and pay.

How to create a new trio and enter a class:

  1. Ensure all three performers exist as Individuals.

  2. In Ensembles, choose Group with People, add the three named performers, and save.

  3. Click Enter next to that trio, choose the trio class, Add to Basket, then Checkout and pay.

How to create a new ensemble (choir, band, group) and enter a class:

  1. In Ensembles, choose Group by Size, enter details and Save.

  2. Click Enter for that ensemble, select the appropriate ensemble class, fill out the details when prompted, Add to Basket, then Checkout and pay.

Helpful Extras:

  • Faster for teachers/schools: RMF lets you upload entrants in bulk via Entrants → Upload Entrants (both individuals and ensembles). From the Entrants | Upload Entrants menu option you can download a template for either individuals or groups. Once you have downloaded the templates, complete the data you wish to import and load it using the Entrants | Upload Entrants | Load Entrants file option. Do not change the name of the file: the system relies on the filename to import the data in the right way to the right place. If you are making multiple file entries and wish to keep copies, only change the filename after you have imported the data successfully.

  • Bulk Entry Upload: This feature will be available in the next few weeks, so please wait to make your entries if you have a lot of performers. We hope that this will make entering your students much quicker and easier.

  • Payments: If you need an invoice to make payment for entries, please select ‘BACS Payment’. You will then receive an email with all the details you need to pay by BACS. We hope most users will continue to pay using PayPal.

  • Free School Meals/Pupil Premium Discount: We offer 50% off entry fees for solo and duet performers who qualify for free school meals/receive Pupil Premium. This is still being set up on the system and should be available in the next few weeks. In the mean time, please select ‘BACS Payment’ and the Festival Secretary will contact you.

  • Finding classes quickly: Have the class number from the syllabus ready; the class picker supports quick selection and search.

  • If piece titles and authors/composers are not yet known, please enter "TBC" and 0:00 for the length. You can come back and complete your entry later, but before the completion deadline.

  • For classes designated as Piano/Keyboard, please indicate whether you would prefer to perform on a festival piano or a festival keyboard
